The University of Buckingham Law Fair 2024

3 June 2024

The University of Buckingham Law School hosted the Buckingham Law Fair in May 2024, with an impressive array of stakeholders from across the legal services and volunteering sectors.

Students had the opportunity to engage with legal recruiters from corporate services to private client including Shoosmiths, Machins Solicitors, BP Collins, HCR Law and local law firm, Shepherd & Co.

Milton Keynes Council legal team represented the public sector along with Thames Valley Police, and New Bridge Foundation, providing volunteering insights for students with an interest in criminal justice education.

Fostering student engagement from across the faculties, one non-law undergraduate student summed up:

“What an incredible event and a huge thank you to all the companies and organisations that did talks and were friendly and helpful all afternoon. As a non- LLB student seeking a career as a solicitor, it was truly fascinating to get advice from you all in what my next stage can be and get an initial network started”

BARBRI SQE Prep was represented at Law Fest 2024 by Chris Howard, University Partnerships Director, and Rob Dudley, Head of Employability and Engagement. This is what they had to say about the event:

“BARBRI are always delighted to support events provided by our partners at The University of Buckingham School of Law, and Law Fest 2024 was the best yet. There was a fabulous group of stakeholders in attendance, from leading public sector recruiters through to major local and international law firms. There was a real buzz about the event and we had a continuous series of discussions with highly engaged students.

We were also able to provide a bespoke talk on our specialist area of SQE preparation which created an invaluable opportunity for students to understand more about our education provision and to ask the important questions. We very much look forward to attending next year’s event and would like to thank the organisers for all their hard work in making it such a success.”
