Swains Scholarship
Up to £5,000/year for undergraduates in Buckinghamshire with financial need.
2020 Ronald Swains of High Wycombe left a legacy bequest to The University of Buckingham. He wished to establish a permanent endowment in his name to fund a scholarship in perpetuity. In memory of Ronald Swains, we are pleased to offer the Swains Scholarship of up to £5,000 per year for any undergraduate degree. To apply you must be a resident of Buckinghamshire or Milton Keynes and be able to demonstrate financial need.
“The Swains scholarship has been invaluable in aiding my studies. It helped alleviate the stress of financial concerns. I found that the biggest challenge I had to overcome was my desire to compare myself to other people and their successes. I realised that it’s important to recognise that everyone is on a separate academic and personal journey and the only competition you have is yourself. I would advise future students to make the most out of their university experience without pressuring themselves to overwork themselves for the sake of doing well in exams. To make the most out of your time here, join societies, and try to interact with people outside of your course as there is a wealth of friendships to be made.” Shruti, Medicine student
