BUCSIS Deliver PG Cert in Counter-Terrorism Investigators to Indonesian National Police
20 June 2024
BUCSIS staff delivered its third and fourth rounds of the PG Certificate in Counter-Terrorism Investigation programme to Indonesian Police Officers.
Professor Julian Richards, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Director, Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) said:
“It was an honour for the BUCSIS team to visit Jakarta last week to award the very first University of Buckingham PG Certificates in Counter Terrorism Investigation and in Surveillance and Counter-Terrorism to a very proud group of students and their families. We also commenced the next round of instruction to a mixed group of Indonesian National Police counterterrorism officers.
We’re delighted with the continuing success of this ground-breaking capacity building venture, and are very grateful for all the support we have received from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, the Indonesian National Police (INP) and JCLEC (Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation). The drive and efficiency of the latter in particular have been absolutely essential in delivering the programmes, and we are very excited about the next steps in the delivery of professional education of the highest quality, applicability and integrity. Huge thanks also go to Dr Ian Stanier for being the brains behind the whole concept; and to Dr Zora A. Sukabdi, Ph.D., our esteemed external examiner from the University of Indonesia.”
