Statement from the Vice-Chancellor

The University’s Senate and Council have voted to remove David Starkey’s Honorary Doctorate and appointment to the position of Honorary Professorial Fellow at The University of Buckingham. Mr Starkey’s apology and ground-breaking contribution to scholarship over four decades were noted, however the remarks made during his podcast interview with Darren Grimes were considered incompatible with the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
