Apply for Accommodation
Allocations policy
Room offers are made (in the order they are received), to applicants who have ‘Unconditional Firm’ offers.
Please make sure that you have read and understood our accommodation terms and conditions before you apply and accept a place in University accommodation. You will be entering into a legally binding contract for which there is no opt-out clause. Unless there are serious extenuating circumstances, you will be financially liable for the whole duration of your contract.
All new accommodation contracts are for one academic year.
The Security Bond
All students who stay in University owned accommodation must pay a £700 security bond. This is refundable when you move out of the accommodation, minus any accommodation debt and/or accommodation charges.
Your Room Offer
Your room offer is valid for 10 days. If you want us to hold the room for you then you must make a payment of either the security bond, the first terms rent, or both, before your room offer expires.
Collecting your Keys
Before you can collect your keys you must have paid the £700 security bond and the first terms rent. We would prefer you to make these payments by card via the online accommodation portal.
Arrivals
Although the following information is currently correct, it may be subject to change.
Once you have paid your £700 security bond AND your first term’s accommodation fee, you will be asked to confirm your arrival date. Please note that the earliest that you can collect your keys and move into your room is the first day of your accommodation licence. If you plan on arriving in Buckingham prior to this date, you will have to book a hotel room, as we are unable to allow early access to the accommodation.
Useful information
- All of our rooms are fully furnished.
- Please bring you own bedding and towels – these are not provided by the University
- There are kettles, microwaves and toasters in the kitchens but you will need to bring your own pots, pans and crockery.
