Evelyn Jacobs (LLB)
I am thrilled to share my journey as a Canadian student who chose to pursue a 2-year LLB Degree at the University of Buckingham. Today, as I stand on the cusp of becoming a lawyer in Canada, I reflect fondly upon the incredible experiences and opportunities that this institution provided me.
From the moment I embarked on this educational adventure, the University of Buckingham proved to be an exceptional choice. Like any good adventure, however, it began with fear. The fear of moving so far away from home, of going back to school after many years away doubting my abilities, and not knowing how my degree would transfer back to Canada. In taking the plunge, I could not be happier that I overcame my apprehensions and took a chance on myself. I quickly settled into the small, hometown atmosphere of Buckingham and the compact yet diverse campus provided an intimate learning environment where I engaged closely with professors and fellow students alike.
Upon completing my LLB degree, I returned to Canada and embarked on the next phase of my journey: the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA). The rigorous process required to obtain NCA accreditation was made more manageable due to the solid legal foundation I acquired at the University of Buckingham. I was able to have my degree assessed and my exams written in a short three and a half months following receiving my final results.
Today, as I begin my articles and prepare to become a lawyer next year, I am immensely grateful for the education and support I received at the University of Buckingham. The skills, knowledge, and international perspective I gained during my time there have prepared me to navigate the complexities of the legal profession in Canada.
I would highly recommend the University of Buckingham to any Canadian student aspiring to pursue a legal career. The institution’s commitment to academic excellence, personalized attention, and practical learning experiences are second to none. Whether you dream of practicing law internationally or returning to Canada like I did, the University of Buckingham will equip you with the tools and skills necessary to succeed.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, staff, and fellow students who made my time at the University of Buckingham truly unforgettable. The friendships, mentorship, and unwavering support I received have not only shaped my professional journey but have also enriched my life.
Thank you, University of Buckingham, for enabling me to pursue my legal dreams and guiding me towards a fulfilling career as a lawyer. I am excited to embark on this new chapter and contribute to the legal landscape of Canada.
