Inclusion Committee

What we do

We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment within which inclusive learning, fair treatment and diversity are valued and discrimination is challenged. The Inclusion Committee are dedicated to constantly improving everyone's experience at Buckingham through its focus on equality, diversity and inclusion issues.

The committee monitors the University’s procedures and practices, regularly undertakes data analysis and work with students and staff to understand their experience across all of our academic, administrative and student support areas. Working closely with teams across the University, for example our Wellbeing Skills and Diversity (WSD) and Academic Skills and Know-how (ASK) teams, the committee also provides extra teaching and learning resources to help students with their study skills and overall university life. Likewise, we work with HR to provide an inclusive environment for staff to thrive.

The Committee's purpose

The committee’s purpose is for the scrutiny of equality of opportunity across the University and to ensure that the University fulfils its statutory obligations in respect of equality and diversity for our students, staff and wider community.
