The University of Buckingham’s Foundation Pathway Programmes offer a flexible and supportive route to undergraduate study. Designed as standalone academic courses, these pathways enable students to explore their interests while building essential skills for degree-level success. Our Integrated Foundation Programmes, in contrast, combine foundation and undergraduate study into a single, continuous course for those ready to commit to a specific pathway.
Key Differences: Foundation Pathway vs. Integrated Foundation Programmes
Foundation Pathway Programmes
- Structure: Two separate programmes: Foundation (9 months) followed by Undergraduate (2 years).
- Flexibility: Ideal for students who:
- Are not yet certain which degree to pursue.
- Wish to progress to a degree not available as an Integrated option.
- Intakes:
- September intake: September–June
- January intake: January–September
- Progression: Successful completion guarantees entry to a two-year undergraduate degree at Buckingham.
Integrated Foundation Programmes
- Structure: One unified programme combining Foundation and Undergraduate study (3 years total).
- Focus: A continuous, structured path for students already committed to a specific degree programme.
