Senior Research Fellow in Early Modern British History
Paul Lay is editor of History Today. He graduated in History at Birkbeck, University of London, winning the Dakin Prize. He sits on the advisory boards of the Institute of Historical Research and the History and Policy unit at King’s College London. He runs an annual seminar on public history at Royal Holloway, University of London, is principal host of the annual London History Festival, convenor of conferences on public history at the Society of Antiquaries London and a judge of the Longman/History Today book prize. His e-book, History Today and Tomorrow, was published by Endeavour Press in 2012. Paul Lay was a founder of BBC History Magazine, former obituaries editor at the Guardian, desk editor at the Telegraph and editor of BBC classical music publications.
