Carmen is Senior Lecturer in Spanish and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is Admissions Tutor for Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) programmes and co-ordinator for the Spanish section in the MFL Department. After teaching Spanish at Southbank University, Leicester University and De Montfort University for some years, Carmen joined The University of Buckingham in 2000, where she teaches Spanish at all levels. Her professional interests lie in the field of Applied Linguistics for the teaching and learning of foreign language(s), the use of new technologies for the teaching and learning of second languages and the Contemporary History of Spain. Her latest research work is focused on two topics: Spanish Foreign Policy and Spanish Nationalisms.
