Professor Ali Kabiri, Head of Economics and International Studies Department, Senior Lecturer in Economics, MSc Money, Banking and Central Banking Programme Director
Professor Kabiri teaches Welfare Economics, Microeconomic theory and the History of Economic thought on the undergraduate programmes. He has a research interest in banking risk and credit, economic history and behavioural economics/finance and is a research associate at the Financial Markets Group (FMG) at the LSE and a member of the lead team at the CSDU at UCL.
Dr Juan Castañeda, Senior Lecturer in Economics, Director of the Institute of International Monetary Research
Dr Castañeda has been awarded a Bank of Spain annual scholarship to develop research on the monetary history and has also developed several research projects on fiscal policy rules.
Professor Martin Ricketts, Professor of Economic Organisation
Professor Ricketts is published in the areas of theory of the firm, aspects of public finance, the new institutional economics and housing policy. He is also a Managing trustee of the IEA and trustee of the Institute of International Monetary Research.
Mary Powis, Lecturer in Quantitative Methods
Ms Powis teaches maths and statistics, providing a solid foundation for students to build on. She has experience supporting students of a wide range of abilities and has a dedicated approach to student development. She is also a specialist in equality issues.
Mohga Bassim, Senior Lecturer in Economics
Dr Bassim has 18 years of experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at Buckingham, pioneering modules in development economics in the MENA region, econometrics and etatistics.
Len Shackleton, Professor of Economics
A specialist in labour market economics and economic policy, Professor Shackleton teaches modules on the undergraduate programme. He brings his vast experience in academic and real-world economics, regularly appearing on radio, TV and contributing to newspapers and websites.
Brian Sturgess, Visiting Lecturer
Victor Codeceira, Lecturer in Economics
Victor is a lecturer in economics at the University of Buckingham. Previously, he was an associate lecturer in the department of economics at the University of York. His research interest lies in the field of Political Economy and Applied Microeconometrics.
