Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Applications to The University of Buckingham are considered on an individual basis by the University Admissions Office. Various factors are taken into account, so if you have a different educational and work experience, please contact us and talk to our Admissions Team.

Alternative qualifications

Applicants with BTEC, T Levels and other qualifications are welcome to apply, including if you have a mix of BTEC and A Levels. We also accept a wide range of international qualifications including International Baccalaureate (IB). You can use the UCAS website to calculate your tariff points to find out what your qualifications are or will be worth.

Where an applicant is taking the EPQ alongside A Levels, the EPQ will be taken into consideration and result in slightly lower A Level grades being required.

Alternative Eligibility

Alternative eligibility may be in the form of relevant work experience, keen aptitude and a passion for the subject, or unlocked potential that you feel can be discovered through your studies at Buckingham.

Selection Process

The Admissions Team will work to ensure you are provided with an offer as quickly as possible given your educational qualifications, work experience and personal statement. Some candidates may be invited to attend an interview before they are made an offer, but this is so that we can help you to establish whether Buckingham is a good fit for you. These interviews can be done remotely via Teams or Zoom.

Mature students (over 21) may be given an offer to study at the University based on their work and life experience, together with any formal qualifications they hold.

Flexible entry

All of our undergraduate programmes operate a flexible entry process and we will consider entrants from all backgrounds with slightly lower qualifications if they are able to demonstrate an alternative eligibility for the course.

Student contract for prospective students

When you are offered a place at the University you will be notified of the student contract between the University and students on our courses of study. When you accept an offer of a place on the course at the University a legal contract is formed between you and the University on the basis of the student contract in your offer letter. Your offer letter and the student contract contain important information which you should read carefully before accepting an offer. Read the Student Contract.

International Students

We have a number of entry requirements for our international applicants.

Mature Students

Age is no barrier to learning and we welcome all applications from suitably qualified students.
