Phil Wolfenden

Council member

Phil has over 30 years of experience in the IT sector, with the last 12 years spent as an Executive of Cisco Systems, a US multinational digital communications conglomerate with revenue of over $55 billion. His experience covers every market sector, and from start-up businesses in Emerging Markets to running large Global organisations.

Before Cisco, Phil’s career includes leadership roles at Exxon and Lloyds Banking Group and has taken him and his family to live in five different countries across three continents.

Beyond his technology career, Phil is a published author on his passion subjects of inclusive leadership and education. He leads employee groups within Cisco for Disability Action and LGBTQ+. His passionate belief in the combined forces of technology and education delivering an inclusive future for all is why he’s proud to serve on The Council of University of Buckingham.

In his personal time, Phil works on his farm in Hampshire, with horses, goats, donkeys and ducks to keep him company, He also enjoys Parkrun on Saturdays with his son and daughter, except when they win.
